*** The easiest and quickest way for ANYONE to measure their health and fitness. You dont need to be an athlete to complete the step test. ***

The 3 Minute Step Test or Queens College Step test is one of many variations of step test procedures, used to determine aerobic fitness.

The test is an easy to administer sub-maximal test of cardiovascular endurance and this app does all the work for you so you can concentrate on your test.

*** Procedure of 3 Minute Step Test ***

1.) The athlete steps up and down on the platform at a rate of 22 steps per minute for females and at 24 steps per minute for males. Pace is set by the internal metronome inside the app. The subjects are to step using a four-step cadence, up-up-down-down for 3 minutes.

2.) The athlete stops immediately on completion of the test, where they are guided through the counting of their heart rate for 15 seconds.

3.) The user then enters their HR and this information is then used to determine the level of aerobic fitness and a predicted V02max. The theory is that the lower your heart rate on completion of activity, the higher your aerobic fitness base.

Good

A pretty gods app. One thing that it can improve on is the count down as the beginning. After 1 it should immediately start. Other then that it is pretty good.

Glitchy as hell!

Somethings not right with this app. None of the buttons are where they should be and its difficult to navigate. Very glitchy!!!

awesome fitnesses level tester

I cant say I liked the results of the test...lets just say I have quite a bit of room for improvement. However, the app works great and does exactly what its supposed to do. Hopefully in a few months Ill begin to work on my fitness levels and keep retesting myself with this app!

This app seems to work. I think it is useful, but I wish the instructions were a little more detailed and that the application had more functions, like an included heart rate test.

Great Way to Test My VO2 Max!

As a distance runner, Im curious to see whats my VO2 max... This app provided a simple test for measuring it. Got an excellent score :-)

Okay

Well I am not a marathon runner or anything and I prefer hiking to running but after the initial check Id never it again. Honestly good info but why would the average person even bother.

Ok

Ok overall. The interface is a bit 80s, and i dont think users are satisfied to purchase a $0.99 app for such a simple step test, clearly it needs more features.
