This new app DOES WHAT IT SAYS. The video quality is superb and I would recommend this to all camera buffs. Through eBay, I picked up a high quality window mount for less than six dollars for Motion X GPS and it works great for my iPhone 4. aDriveVideo is so easy to use, and you have the choice to turn voice off, which saves a smaller file. This app has so much more, so read the instructions. Super job guys!

aDrive Video is easy to use application, combining functionality of specialized video recorder and car digital dashboard.
Have you ever regret that you did not have time to take a video of something interesting on the road, because you driving a car and have no possibility to quickly get the camera?... This application should solve the problem.
Once installed in the windscreen mount your iPhone acts as a digital compass, speedometer, G-meter and a basic GPS unit. You can start recording a video at any time, just simply click on the screen once. The speedometer, compass, digital clock and altimeter readings will be inserted RIGHT IN THE VIDEO file, so you will see them when viewing it using any available video player, without the "aDrive Video" application installed!
When you stop video recording, the ready movie will be automatically saved into the standard Photo Album, where you can view it later, email or upload on YouTube.
Additional features:
- Speed indicator changes color when you accelerating (can be disabled in Preferences);
- Application can automatically save video every several minutes (also option in Preferences). This divides your movie into separated clips, what makes easier to email them or upload to YouTube.
- You can choose an option to save ONLY several LAST minutes of the video. With this option you can keep the application running constantly, without filling all the available memory.
- You can disable the audio recording to save the iPhone memory and be able to record longer video clips;
- 3 different dashboard layouts;
- 2 settings for dashboard size;
- You can adjust video compression rate;
- Some of dashboard readings can be disabled;
- Front side camera support;
- Possibility of inserting Apple Map patch into recorded video;
- Kilometers per hour, miles per hour and knots speed units;

Surprisingly, but this app really works! I tried other driving video recorders, like DriveMate, who is not bad, but the export is slooowww! This one saves the video almost immediately! It has simple interface, what is good when you driving and need to watch the road, not the buttons on screen! Feature request: would be just superb to have an option to save ONLY LAST 10 MINUTES.
Just what I was looking for!
aDrive was just what I was looking for! I did not want to by a GoPro for the limited onboard video, so I found aDrive instead. It works just as advertised and the video quality is just what I was looking for. I have even started using it during normal driving, just in case I ever need the evidence. Great product and the author is attentive with upgrades and bug fixes. Both a bargain and a great solution.
No auto flip
The video does not flip, so the app is pointless if you have a fixed holder - the dashboard simply comes in upside down
Nice, but
This is a good app, but it needs an option to be able to record videos in different phone orientations. My videos record upside-down with my mount. Also needs better recording quality. The video gets pixelated and bad frame rates sometimes.
Bad video
When will the developers of black box apps learn that superimposing information on the video degrades the video. They need an option to not have the speed information superimposed. At the highest setting the video is really poor.
