《古韵流觞》这本书入选的藏品，大都属于海外回流传世的近代工艺美术品，流光溢彩，其种类、等级和造型精美程度令人惊羡不已，目不暇接，过目难忘。我在天津艺术博物馆工作多年，现在该馆与天津历史博物馆合并，改称天津博物馆，平日接触最多的也是传世品。天津是京师的门户，由于地缘和区位的优势，加上人文因素，清宫散佚的珍宝很多流入津门。天津博物馆藏有一些经典作品，在业内享誉中外。但仅就清代工艺美术品一项，两者相比，虽各有所长，我仍感到一些品类较之逊色。两岸故宫、瀋阳故宫、承德离宫收藏清代工艺美术品处于主导地位，自不必细说，其他省市级博物馆、民间博物馆和私人藏家，就此项而言，与其也无法比拟。
