Pour les ferrus de stats de course cest genial. la vitesse est aussi precise quun GPS et vous pouvez tteindre 300Km/h!! je lai testé ce soir en voiture, et jai eu les infos que ma voiture ne donne pas: Vitesse moyenne-distance parcourue-temps parcourue-vitesse max... UN joli diagramme alimente le tout. Le bémol: pas de possibilité de sauvegarder son diagramme de son parcours (pas dexploittaion possible). AudibleSpeed (GPS Speed Monitor) provides CONTINUOUS AUDIBLE MONITORING of your current speed at all times!!
This utility app allows you to define one or more Speed Ranges and associate each range with a sound effect and a color code (any RGB color).
It will then track your speed using your iPhones GPS unit (built-in in all iPhone 3G/3GS models) and will:
- display the current speed in digital and analogue ("speedometer") formats, as well as plot a graph chart (covering the last 80 seconds);
- play the associated sound effect whenever your current speed enters a defined range;
- (optionally) replay the sound effect repeatedly with a specified interval as long as your speed stays within that range (this is configurable individually for each range);
- change the screen frame/background color to the color associated with that range;
- display the range name (or associated sound effect name if range name is left blank) and some other parameters;
- it also tracks and displays the MAX and AVG speed for the session, as well as time and distance traveled.
When the GPS satellites signal is unavailable (e.g., inside tunnels, between skyscrapers, under big bridges, indoors, etc) and/or GPS speed data becomes "stale" (older than 5 seconds) it will play a warning "beep" sound and flash the frame/background color black and white.
NOTE:
On the very first use (once-off), it will guide you through:
- a warning/disclaimer screen (please read carefully),
- then the Settings screen - where you can choose your speed measurement units (MPH, KM/H, etc),
- and then it will then create a set of sample speed ranges with values that best illustrate the concept taking into account the speed measurement units selected in Settings (you can later modify or delete these sample ranges - just as if they were your own created by you).
NOTE:
Because this app uses the GPS unit to obtain speed data, it must be allowed to access "Location Services" when prompted to do so.
Also "Location Services" must be turned "ON" and the "Airplane Mode" must be "OFF" in the iPhones standard "Settings" page.
Besides using the GPS data to determine current speed, this app is also retrieving and displaying your current Long, Lat and Alt, but it is NOT actually "tracking" your location as such - i.e. it does not store or report or make any use of Long/Lat/Alt data other than displaying on screen and calculating the distance between previous and current location point (to aggregate total distance traveled).

Tres bonne application
Great for the commuter
This is a perfect app for the commuter who likes to listen to music, podcast, or audiobooks while driving. You can set bunch of warnings for when you reach your predefined speeds. The warnings can be audible, with a ton of different sounds to choose from, and/or visual, by changing app background color. For example, I have one limit set for 55mph to 70mph with no sound but has a green color. So within that range I can enjoy my iPod audio and the app will just be a green color. Then I set one for 71-75 where it plays a nice alarm warning sound every 10 seconds that I am in that zone, and app screen blinks yellow. Then at 76+ I have an annoying alarm sound every 2 seconds and flashing red. I can have the alarm sounds low enough where it doesnt distract me too much from my audiobooks. There are gps info and graph of average, max, min speed over time, current speed, alt etc, but I mainly just let the app run in foreground or background while I drive and listen to my books. I found the speeds from the gps/app to be very accurate, always within about +-1mph or so from my car speedometer. Developer is extremely responsive! There is a minor bug where your speed limit settings becomes a clear screen sometimes. I emailed the developer and got an email back the next day with a work around. Then less than a week later this version came out and fixed the bug all together. This is an app that I use daily, and is my most useful and most used app on my iPhone (2 hrs a day). Its a ticket saver on my long freeway commute. Recommend to anyone with a commute, especially if you listen to podcasts or audiobooks. Super cheap app compared to the cost and hassle of a speeding ticket!

Pretty Nice.... Would like to see some better features
Im always looking for some speed apps, and this one is pretty cool. I like the changing colors, I would like to be able to see a recap of a trip or be able to export it. The graphing is cool but would like to be able to go back from the start of the trip for review. All in all nice app and works well, let me be able to review my trips and this is easy a 5 star, but for now its a 4...
