The "iWavit Toshiba" app turns your iPhone (and iPod touch, iPad) into an IR remote for controlling a Toshiba LCD TV, specifically the Toshiba 55" LCD TV Model 55LT515u with remote CT 90367, although it will also control many other Toshiba LCD TVs.
This app is a "Virtual Remote". The layout of the buttons is similar to the remote that ships with your Toshiba TV. Swipe left-right between 4 screens to get to other buttons.
There are a few notable benefits of iWavit Virtual Remotes over traditional remotes:
1. Keep all your remotes inside your iPhone! No more rummaging through seats and pillows to find your remote!
2. Buttons are large and easy to hit and easily seen in the dark, so no need to turn on the lights in the room just to adjust the volume
3. Long range. Use the (optional) iWavit USB Dongle & IR Lightbar as an RF-IR Extender with a range of over 300ft.
When you press the buttons on the iWavit Toshiba app, IR signals will be emitted from the front of the iWavit. You will be able to use this app much as you would a regular Toshiba TV IR Remote. Moreover, all buttons on this remote are re-programmable. You might, for example, prefer to have the volume buttons control your surround sound system instead of the TV volume.
This remote also includes 8 fully customizable buttons on Screen 3. You can re-label these buttons. For example, you may want these buttons to control other devices, such as your Cable box, your sound system, DVD, or your radio.
WIRELESS IR BLASTER
The iWavit Premium and BLUETOOTH Smart iWavit Blast! products include a USB Dongle & IR Lightbar that you can used as long range RF-to-IR Extender. (Note: You do not need WiFi in your home). The IR lightbar is a very powerful IR blaster. This means that the Toshiba TV does not even need to be in direct line of sight to the IR Lightbar because the Lightbar will light up the room with invisible IR signals when it blasts. So now you will be able to control your TV by simply leaning back in your couch and pressing any button without even pointing the remote. In fact you can walk around your house and be up to 100 meters away and still control devices that are in optical range of the IR Lightbar.
