For the beginning of kindergarten. So minute math etc are not being used. Good to sit down and talk through. "if I have 3 fingers and add 1 finger what does that add too?". I expect us to use this more by end of the school year

We are developing fun applications that stimulate and inspire children to learn and practice math both at home and at school.
This application encourages Kindergarten children to practice the addition of two single digit (0-9) numbers, and the subtraction of two single digit (0-9) numbers (without negative answers).
Children can gain confidence by doing practice addition and subtraction problems with unlimited time, or they can build proficiency by selecting "Minute Math" to see how many problems they can answer with a time limit. The app defaults to 10 problems and 60 seconds, but these can be changed in the SETTINGS area of the iPhone/iPod Touch.
Teachers are using the Kids Math Fun applications in their classrooms to reinforce addition, subtraction, and basic math skills. Considering their comments, we added a “Double Dare” feature so children can expand their math skills by mastering the inverse relationship between addition and subtraction. A “Try Again” feature allows children to develop mastery by attempting a problem again if they get it wrong.
A new “Show Scores” button allows children and parents to see the high scores for all four regular and all four “Minute Math” activities.
A score board in the right hand corner, shows how many addition or subtraction problems have been completed along with the totals for correct and wrong answers. Graphics include: Smiling kids, kids playing outdoors, healthy fruit and vegetable snacks, boats, and buildings.
Total Practice Problems can be set between 5 and 100 problems, the Minute Math Timer can be set between 1/2 minute and 10 minutes, and High Scores can be cleared.

The kid is learning math and likes the iPhone so this is great.
Good could be better with tweaks
Overall its a good learning tool. The interface is pretty polished as well. With a couple of tweaks it could be even better. Theres no way to view high scores from the menu, only at the end of a quiz. Some of the text is too tiny. You should be able to log in your name at the begining and view high scores by child. Sound and some other reward animation would add some depth. More than once my son accidentally hit the wrong answer button because of the size. It may not be possible to increase the answer button size and preserve the layout, but it would be nice if they could. As I said at the begining its a pretty good app. My two boys actually like to do math with it. (then again, the reward is usually a game or two on the phone afterwards)
Kindergarten is 4th grade!
YIKES! My Kindergarten child was so excited to have an app like his first grade brother but when he clicked on it we saw all 4th grade material. Please fix this!

Latest update fixed problem. Working grest now, thanks. Most recent update replaced my kindergarten app with the 4th grade version. My child can no longer use this, which is too bad because he really enjoyed it. Please fix!!!
