I downloaded the free wordpower lite hoping this will help him to learn Cantonese but accidentally upgraded it to a full version. That is fine but the pronunciation in this app is terrible. It either pronounces the words totally wrong or it sounds like that it is spoken by a person who has problem with his pronunciation. I certainly dont want my son to learn cantonese from this. No body does. When I went in the app store to find this app cantonese wordpowerlite to put in a complaint and request for refund I found the app Cantonese wordpower which I believed it is the full version of Cantonese wordpowerlite. So I clicked on it and navigate to find the page to in my complaint. It asked me to get a copy before I can put in a comments. I thought I have already downloaded this I might just re-download it again. Afterward I found out they are two different app while the contents are exactly the same. Now I not only have to request one refund but two.
Pronunciation is HORRIBLE! Dont buy this!!
I am a native Cantonese speaker and I got this app to teach my husband Cantonese! Worst $10 I ever spent. The developers of this app should know that Cantonese is a tonal language and an error in the tone makes a HUGE difference! The native speaker on this app is NOT a native speaker bc his pronunciation is TERRIBLE! It sounds like he is a Mandarin speaker trying to learn Cantonese and saying all the words with a Mandarin accent. Whatever it is, its NOT native-sounding Cantonese! Ive reported the problem and I hope the developers will address it, if they get a person who actually speaks Cantonese on this app, I think the format would actually be quite good! But until they fix it, DONT buy this app- you wont be learning proper Cantonese!
My number 1 Cantonese learning tool
Ive had this app for quite a while now, and its always been a great resource. But as of 6 months ago or so, they have made a bunch of changes which have made this app indispensable to me.

これはひどい。香港の広東語が全く学べません。全て中国本土の広東語のうえに、ものによっては北京語を広東語読みしただけのフレーズです。しかも声調の音声が間違えまくり！こんなおヤバイぼったくりアプリとは知らずにバカ高い金額で買ってしまいAppleアプリ初の非常に不愉快な教訓となりました。このサイトから万一請求メールが来ても、あらゆる手を尽くして拒否したいと思います！本当にひど過ぎです！頭に来ています！！！
Waste of Money !
Dont bother downloading this. I wasted my money. The concept is good , but it defeats the purpose when you have a native english speaker teaching cantonese. His Cantonese pronounciation was way off. Wonder if they ever tested it before they requested $9.99.
Its not all cantonese
Why is it not all Cantonese? For example; the Cantonese word for "they" is not "ta men" which is Mandarin. The word in Cantonese is "kuei day". If its Cantonese (and there are slightly different dialects of Cantonese) its not your common Hong Kong Cantonese which is the useful one if your going to learn Cantonese.
