Developed by professional firefighters, the ManDown App is a personal safety app that can save lives.
The ManDown App sends immediate alerts in case of an emergency or injury. Enter the contact information for your family, friends and colleagues – if you have an emergency, they’ll get notified via text, phone or e-mail.
Once the Mandown app is activated, it continuously monitors the phone’s movement. The default setting is that if the phone is motionless for 30 seconds, then a pre-Alarm warning will start. If the phone is not moved within another 30 seconds, then the Full Alarm mode is activated. In the Full Alarm mode the phone sends out a local, audible alarm. The phone will also send out a text, email and phone call to selected recipients. This message will also contain the gps location of the person in distress.
The motionless timer can be set, in hourly increments, for up to 24 hours. This feature enables the ManDown app to be used as a Safety Net device. Possible uses for this unique feature are:
•Lone worker. Say a worker is operating alone for two hours. The worker sets the timer for two hours and places the phone. If the worker fails to move the phone in two hours, then the Alarm will sound and the alerts will be sent. This feature can be set for any period of a shift that a worker might be alone, such as a night watchman
•Elderly. For an elderly person living alone, the Mandown app turns their phone into a Check-in device. If the user has an accident and can’t move or is unconscious, then the alarm will automatically activate.
•Students, Children. The ManDown app is an excellent way for parents to have their children ‘Check-in’ without feeling compelled to make a phone call.
•Nanny’s, baby-sitters. Set the Mandown app to make sure that if something happens to your Nanny or Baby-sitter, you will be notified.

Just downloaded this app sounded great have tried it and it doesnt work at all will not give my location. If they dont change it its not worth your money

10 credits are included which cover 5 calls and 5 text messages but unlimited e-mails. Inexpensive packages are available for Additional credits if desired In the event you wish to test out the system and use up The 5+5 they give you I think its a good value. Ill give more stars when I prove it works well
App crashes
Great idea! Testing this app for use in aviation when working alone and in hazardous environments. However, the app wont let me add more than one contact number.
Needs Work
Expected a little more for $2.99. The ‘credit’ thing is not very clear, neither is how it wants you to enter the phone number. It gives you warning each time you save a phone number regardless of how you enter it, so not sure if I entered it correctly or not. It also doesn’t give you an option to test it, so I have no idea if the information is entered correctly. It also doesn’t have an option to have you customized the message (if a message is sent, who knows? It doesn’t state that).
