Good app but is scheduled down 25% of the time

I have been told ...and I know...I need to lower my expectations with everything related to Danish life. But honestly...a financial app that has scheduled down-time for a quarter of the day??? Really? No matter how long I live in this country, I will never be able to lower my standards enough to find this acceptable. The app has scheduled down time from midnight to 6AM EVERY DAY. This is not only really crappy, but also shows how Danish institutions would never be able to compete with the rest of the world if and when they needed to. I have retirement accounts in the U.S. At Chase Manhattan and also at New York Life, and there is no such thing as scheduled daily down time. Is it really necessary to take the system down for 6 hours every day to update them or something? How old is this technology? When will Danes learn to expect more?
