Description
Pamięć Miasta to próba ocalenia od zapomnienia pomników oraz możliwość poznania historii miejsc wyróżniających się monumentami, posągami lub tablicami, które upamiętniają Powstańców Warszawskich i mieszkańców walczącej stolicy. Zbiór ok. 370 miejsc pamięci Powstania Warszawskiego został opatrzony krótkimi tekstami ukazującymi wybrany fragment historii i losy ludzi żyjących w okupowanej Warszawie.
Projekt wzbogacono o fotografie archiwalne pochodzące ze zbiorów Muzeum Powstania Warszawskiego oraz aktualne zdjęcia tablic pamiątkowych. Do 30 wybranych punktów dodano nagrania z audiodeskrypcją, które prezentuje Sonia Bohosiewicz – głos aplikacji. Wszystkie miejsca zostały przydzielone do konkretnej dzielnicy i zaznaczone na mapie. Dzięki geolokalizacji bez problemu można znaleźć dany obiekt i z łatwością poruszać się po mieście.
Aplikacja została opracowana w dwóch wersjach językowych – polskiej i angielskiej. Można ją pobrać bezpłatnie z Google Play oraz App Store. Na bazie aplikacji powstała również mapa miejsc pamięci z podziałem na dzielnice, dostępna na stronie www.1944.pl.
Muzeum Powstania Warszawskiego nieustannie pracuje nad uzupełnianiem i aktualizowaniem bazy miejsc pamięci.

The Warsaw Rising Museum presents a mobile app called Memory of the City.
This app is an attempt to rescue from oblivion the monuments, statues and plaques commemorating Warsaw insurgents and residents of fighting Warsaw and it provides a chance to get to know their history. It is a collection of about 370 sites related to the Warsaw Rising, accompanied by short descriptions showing historical events and the fate of people living in German occupied Warsaw.
This app consists of archival photographs from the collection of the Warsaw Rising Museum as well as contemporary photographs. For 30 selected sites, we have also prepared audio recordings, read by Sonia Bohosiewicz. All sites are marked on a map in their respective districts. Using geolocation you can find each place and easily navigate through the city.
The app has been developed in two language versions–Polish and English. You can download it free of charge from Google Play and App Store. The app is complemented by a map, which shows the sites of memory by districts, available at www.1944.pl.
This database is constantly updated by the Warsaw Rising Museum.
