Salvador Dalí, one of the most famous painters in the history of art and the main exponent of surrealism, was a tireless creator who experimented with almost anything allowing him to develop his talent. However, maybe one of his less known facets is his passion for designing and creating jewels; something you can now discover with this APP.
- His most coveted collection
From 1941 to 1958 Dalí designed a collection of jewels and supervised the whole creation process together with Ertman and Alemany, two jewelers living in New York. This collection, with new additions over the years, passed through the hands of several owners, until it was purchased by the Gala-Salvador Dalí Foundation in 1999 and displayed in one of the rooms of the Dalí Theatre-Museum in Figueres designed specifically for this collection: 38 extraordinary, artistically rich and valuable jewels: a heart of gold, aquamarines and diamonds that beats; lips made of pearls and rubies; soft watches and psychedelic flowers made of emeralds, gold and diamonds; virgins, crosses and pagan gods…
