Not worth it

The app is a wrapper for the content on torpod.com. At that site you’ll find a free service and a premium service. I thought for $9 I would get at least sth more than the free service but, alas, you have to pay a monthly subscription (which I basically never do for any service) in addition to the $9 for everything. And even for the free content, the app is not executed that well: you only get a partial transcript and then a link to a pdf of the full transcript that will not be stored in the app once you close it; so if you want to download your content (i.e. to not have to reply on an internet connection in order to view it), you need to leave the app on in your iPhone indefinitely. The app is not altogether valueless - you can download the audio and, as I said, you get a partial transcript for some (all?) of the podcasts, but if I could go back I’d have saved $9 and just downloaded the audio as free mp3s. Hope the developers have a look at this and think of ways to improve it - I will never subscribe to their monthly payroll (I do not like subscription models in general) but I would be happy to pay $0.5 - $1 per episode to have permanent access to its full transcript!
