Howdy, and welcome to Shoot the Moon! Moon is a trick-taking game similar to Spades or Bridge (or Texas 42), but is played with only 3 players. Each player guesses (bids) how many tricks they can win, and the opposing players attempt to prevent them from making it.

General Rules:
1: After drawing tiles, each player places their bid. The highest bidder sets which tiles act as trumps...a special kind of suit that beats any other kind of tile.

2. The leading player may set down any tile he/she wishes. If a non-trump is played, the leading tile is highest number on the tile. Doubles are considered the highest tile of any suit. The rest of the players MUST follow suit if they can. If they do not possess any matching tiles, then they can play a trump. Otherwise, they will automatically lose the trick.

3. A player may wish to “Shoot the Moon” with a bid of 21. They must win all the tricks in order to make this bid. Depending on the House Rules, a bid of 21 will end all bidding.

4. If the winning bidder fails to make their bid, their bid will be subtracted from their overall score.

Very good !

Idem texas 42 : when has the possibility to save a game and a tournament mode ?!

Great game!

I love playing the Texas 42 game, and I can tell I will fall in love with this game just the same. Thank you!

Yes! Finally a moon app for my iphone!

Absolutely love the look and feel of this app. Its a much quicker pace than 42 and you can play a full game in just a few minutes. Cant wait for multiplayer to come out.

Great companion to Texas 42!

Im a big fan of the Texas 42 app, and this game is just as fun. Moon has helped me improve my bidding and the play is fast-paced but easy to follow. Great graphics and excellent AI. Its been a great way to pass the time over the holidays.

Works fine, but...

Id like to see the "Shoot Creepers" option in the bidding: bidder takes no tricks. This bid can be overridden only by Shooting high (to take all tricks). If successful, bidder scores the same as if hed shot high instead of low.

Its about time! :-) Love it!

We love the new game! Shoot the Moon has a great scoreboard feature so you can see a tally of wins and losses. Its a fun, fast-paced game, and challenging, too! Great job!

Good but could use work

Defensive play needs help in two areas. When discarding they throw high doubles and save double Ace and Blank. Appears to be no intelligence at all. Next, if a defender has two trump, say the 4-6 and 4-2 he will always trump in with the highest leaving the other one useless. Also, once a player has all remaining tricks he should be able to "claim".
