Ive purchased almost every Dr. Seuss book there is, and this one is absolutely terrible. The vocab is too advanced and the flow or lack thereof, makes this book not worthy of the Dr. Seuss name.

A Book for Obsolete Children
A great Dr. Seuss book, FOR ADULTS!
my favorite Seuss book!
This book is geared towards the older set. I gifted it to my parents and they loved it! My children enjoy it too, but the humor is especially relevant to anyone that has gone through a battery of tests at the hospital... in fact, Ive read that Dr Seuss was inspired to write this after such an experience in his later years. This book is for true Seuss fans, of which I am one!! :-)

Seuss is brilliant! He captivates both young and old. I have given this book as a gift for a 50th birthday ... So easy to relate to by then!

By far the best Dr Seuss book Ive read. Language is fluid, observation on modern medical system is sharp and hilarious. Sounds crazy, but it works....and my kid likes it as much or more than traditional favorites. Jack
Not for children
This book is literally not for children. The concepts and vocabulary are not comprehensible or enjoyable to children. I wish I hadnt purchased it. It seems like a cute book to put in a nursing home, not a nursery. I really mean that. It is kind of a cute book, but not for children.
Written for Adults
This is a wonderful book, but be aware that Geisel wrote it for adults. Even so, my five year-old son loves it and he wants to read it every night. As others have noted, the story is not child-like, but the storyline and verse are outstanding.
