Change your manner to visit museums. The louvre in Paris, the metroplitan museum in New York, or the museo egysio in Turin. Visit Egypt without heavy dictionaries.
Aaou is a hieroglyph dictionary, which currently contains more than 23 000 words. It is useful to find the most frequent words. Other words are added regularly (collaboration by email welcome).
You can search by hieroglyphs, transliteration or translation. The number of matching words is displayed on the screen top left. To avoid too many words, it is recommended to select at least 2 hieroglyphs or 2 transliteration letters.
Search by transliteration must be done in alphabetic order.
Search by hieroglyph does not depend on the order of hieroglyphs. After selection add a hieroglyph with + button or remove a hieroglyph with the – button.
The number of words displayed is limited to 50 to avoid having too long list. With 3 hieroglyphs the number of words found is very limited.
Settings
The choice of French or English is automatic. It is set by the language used on your device. To change the language, go to settings / general / international / language
To modify the transliteration mode (mode j & q or i & k) go to settings / Aaou / choose the transliteration mode.

très interressant et pratique
Ce dictionnaire est facile à utiliser, 10200 mots en hiéroglyphes. Cest amusant dessayer de traduire des stèles et hiéroglyphes au musée du louvre. Je vais lessayer en Egypte ou je dois me rendre dans 3 mois. Je suis des cours de hiéroglyphes et cette application mest très utile. Merci aux développeurs.

Excellente idée que cette application ! Pratique, bien conçue et facile dutilisation, elle vient qui plus est combler un manque: dhabitude, les dictionnaires "papier" traduisent les mots égyptiens en mots actuels (français, anglais, allemand,...), mais pas dans lautre sens; cest ici le cas. Encore bravo pour cette démarche originale et utile pour tous les amoureux de la langue et de la civilisation de lEgypte ancienne !

Bonjour, Voici un outil très complet, de la recherche de signes (par formes, par code, par son), de mots (par la translittération, par le codage complet ou partiel, par la traduction en français) et même de quelques expressions courantes. Les mises à jour sont très régulières et le dictionnaire senrichit continuellement - de bons échanges par mail avec le créateur. Un outil indispensable pour les visites de musées ou pour létude de textes en général. Un petit plus, le choix de la translittération j/i et k pointé/q. Sepedette
