Children often recognize car brands at an early age, a fact that gives a great opportunity to learn letters and the alphabet.
The idea is tested in Sweden where “abc – for car nuts...” is successful. It is represented at 800 libraries and used in education at 500 Montessori preschools.
Today you can download this book as an even smarter ipad app with several interactive and clever practices. Everything is tapable and will be read out by a voiceover.
Background
The idea came when the sons of Christian Madsen, reached the reading and writing age. Since Christian had difficulties with the letters as a child he wanted to give his sons a little help down the road – and as a flash from a clear sky it strucked him that small children often recognize cars long before the can read. And as he says: Then it was just to hit the pedal: Alfa, BMW, Citroën, Dodge and so on!
In the creation Christian also had great help from his wife Louise who is a Montessori preschool teacher trained at the well-known AMI institute in London.
