1.6 is finally here all known bugs have been fixed and the anchor offset feature has been added which allows you to set an anchor point after you anchor. Now runs properly on ios version 5.
Anchor Alert was designed to warn you when your anchor drags or breaks loose. It will help protect you from running aground or drifting into other boats while at anchor.
* Just an FYI for those of you that dont know how to close programs that run in the background. Double click your home button(the round button at the bottom of the screen) then you will see all the programs running in the background. Hold your finger on one of the apps until they start wiggling and have an x on them then delete it. That is how you stop apps running in the background it does not delete them like on the main screen. Also this app is not recommended for iPhone 2s.

Drops a larger green dot for anchor spot and a red dot for saved anchor spot.
When you select silent mode the dropping of the anchor is now silenced
Note: "Continued use of GPS running in the background can dramatically decrease battery life."
Rev 1.4:
Added ability to change from sound to vibrate with visual alarm just press the speaker icon.
Now saves range, units, range ring and last anchor point.
Takes 10 samples after position is outside ring before alarm is sounded this should help prevent false alarms.
Calculates average of several position samples to help prevent false alarms.
Fixed several memory leaks and improved performance.
Made the dimmer function darker to improve battery life.
Added a lock/unlock feature so you can scroll and zoom around the map.
Rev 1.1:
Disabled autolock so app wont shut down.
Rev 1.2:
Now goes up to 500 in steps of 20.
Added a LED indicator to let you know when the signal is optimal for setting alarm.
Press the LED to dim the screen

Funktionalität bestens, aber Vorsicht
App works almost perfectly, almost no more false alarms since version 1.4. Prima auch, dass man den Ipad screen ausschalten kann und die App immer noch zuverlässig alarm gibt. So kostet eine ganze nacht nur ein paar % akku. VORSICHT im Ausland mit Roaming. Zwar ist es gigantisch, sich die Ankerbucht im Hintergrund einzublenden und dann den Ankerkreis wirklich gut zu platzieren, allerdings nur, wenn man bereit ist, die Kosten dafür zu tragen - Google Earth Roaming ist ggfls nicht billig.
Sieht gut aus, ist es aber nicht
Die App ist wohl nicht für Segelboote und/oder das iphone geeignet. Akku ist schnell leer, GPS-Genauigkeit ist nicht so doll. Für Gratis ist es okay, aber 2,99 ist zuviel
Spitzen-App zum Top-Preis
Schnörkellose, einfache und zweckmäßige App, die absolut zuverlässig funktioniert! -> ACHTUNG: iPhone-Akku hält bei altivem GPS nur wenige Stunden, das ist aber kein Fehler der App sondern ein generelles iPhone-Thema. Deswegen nicht vergessen, es an eine Stromquelle anzuschließen. Alternativ geht auch das iPad, dessen Akku hält deutlich länger. Der erlaubte Drift bis zum Alarm ist einstellbar und funktioniert zuverlässig auch bereits bei 3m! Ich habe zahlreiche Ankerwarnungs-Apps getestet. Man sollte ja meinen, dass die Apps alle gleich gut funktionieren, weil sie auf das gleiche GPS-Signal zugreifen, aber erst diese konnte mich überzeugen.

Very cool & useful app! Both hubbie & I purchased it. Would like some further more detailed instructions on setting the parameters. The alarm is fantastic & will wake you immediately from a sound sleep! Good job.
