HOW IS BALLOON STORIES DIFFERENT?
All social media platforms today are organized in one way — by profiles. By organizing content this way, there are some limitations. One in particular is the messy and cluttered newsfeed and the other is that the user is unable to control what they want to see in their feed.
We designed and built Balloon, so everything is organised by topics, interests and conversations we call "balloons".
YOU ARE IN FULL CONTROL
One of the most rewarding and valuable experiences that comes out of Balloon Stories is that you now fluently get to control what you follow.
UNFOLLOW WITHOUT COMPLETELY UNFOLLOWING
When you start following a user, you automatically start following all of that users balloons, meaning you will start seeing posts from that users balloons in your newsfeed. Then you can at any given time unfollow a specific balloon story from that user.
This is highly rewarding and valuable if you often find yourself in this type of a situation: “I really like seeing posts from Yuki, but as I don’t listen to podcasts I’m not interested in seeing her podcast posts, so I’ll unfollow her "Podcast" balloon without unfollowing her completely.”
FOLLOW WITHOUT COMPLETELY FOLLOWING
You can start following a specific balloon from a user, without following all the other balloons from that user.
This is highly rewarding and valuable if you often find yourself in this type of a situation: “I’m not really interested in JJ, but I’m really into following his backcountry ski posts, so I’ll follow his "Backcountry Skiing" balloon and his "Mountain Life" balloon, without following his profile and all of his other stories and posts.
