Good App....but

This is a good app and a good tool for not only the consumer but also the Child Passenger Safety Technician to get information about a seat. Having a search function using model number and/or name would be very helpful to all.

Great resource!

From someone who is CPS certified, I especially like the product guide as well as access to the current recall list at your fingertips!

Special needs issue

I am a CPS Tech Instructor working in a hospital. I like many features of the app, but I have not been able to access any of the special needs websites via the links on the app. The links behave differently at different times. Sometimes the link for one manufacturer takes to me to website of another manufacturer. Sometimes I get a 404 message. Lately I have gotten an odd message and have ended up at a website based in Germany. Since special needs is what I do most, this is a big problem for me. While you are fixing that bug, it would also be nice if the special needs button triggered a list of appropriate car seats for the childs height and weight like it does for convential seats, rather than just generating a list of the special needs manufacturers. Many thanks!

So-so Tool for Technicians, Lots of Info For Parents.

Its nice to see so much car seat education right at our fingertips. Im looking at the app as a highly anticipated tool for educating families about car seats. I can see why a parent would find the app useful, many important education points are addressed, but Id like to give a couple of suggestions to make it an even stronger tool for both parents and technicians. 1. Linking the CR directory list to on-line copies of the owners manuals would be awesome. 2. QR reader code/scan system that linked the car seats bar code to product info and recalls. 3. Link to NHTSA Inspection Station Locator for assistance of finding a CPST. I bought this app because I had been looking forward for an AAP app to pop up, but I wouldnt pay for it again from the eyes of a CPST. As a free app it would be good. For $1.99, meh.
