ChatMap is like a walkie talkie that can optionally show your friends or co-workers on a map. You can collaborate on your shared map by drawing lines, dropping pins, or adding photos.
Share ideas by sending voice notes (think push-to-talk) that enable recipients to listen immediately or when they are available. With integrated texting and photo-sharing, communicating with your team has never been easier.
See your friends, family, or colleagues on the map by enabling location sharing for each person. Checking your contacts estimated time of arrival makes organizing groups simple!
With end-to-end encryption your conversations and location are secure from hackers and thieves. Data is encrypted on your device before it is sent and is unencrypted only on the recipients device. Not even the developers of this app can listen in!
The app has the option to use the GPS only when you have the app in the foreground, or when its in the background as well. Continued use of GPS running in the background can dramatically decrease battery life. When location is being shared in the background, steps are taken to minimize battery consumption by using cell tower triangulation instead of relying solely on the GPS hardware.
