Description
Classical Kids is an established leader in family edutainment, with more than two million recordings and 200,000 home videos sold. Producer Susan Hammond’s award-winning series have revolutionized the way children, parents and educators approach classical music. All Classical Kids recordings feature a unique combination of music, history and dramatic storytelling to engage the imagination and present Classical composers as heroes for children. While all the facts about the period are true, a fictional child leads young listeners into the composers world.
A variety of educational resources have been incorporated into the Classical Kids app, including the story scripts and comprehensive teacher’s notes designed as a teacher’s guide with suggestions on how to incorporate the stories into a study program.
The Classical Kids app combines musical studies with skills development techniques designed to move children from passive listeners to active participants in music, drama, social studies, history and the arts. The Classical Kids program also promotes literacy, critical thinking and communication skills. The app includes many beneficial tools such as the built in metronome, audio recorder, email enabled quizzes, and community & collaboration connectivity.
Beethoven Lives Upstairs is a 45 minute fully illustrated tale of genius and childhood. An eccentric new boarder turns a young boy’s life upside-down. Ludwig van Beethoven has moved in upstairs! Young Christoph exchanges letters about the chaotic arrival of Mr. Beethoven and learns to appreciate and understand the great composer and his music.
Features over two dozen excerpts including Moonlight Sonata, Symphonies #5-9, Fur Elise, Pathetique Sonata, Flute Serenade, Violin ‘Spring’ Sonata and Minuet in G Major.
