Descend into the Crossword Dungeon, where every level is made up of a procedurally-generated crossword, and each letter guarded by a vile monster you must best!

Guess the correct letter to instantly dispatch the monster, or risk combat damage if incorrect.

Test your wits against crosswords of increasing complexity and monsters with deadly abilities with one of three classes with their own unique skills:

The Barbarian, a muscled berserker who lives for the thrill of battle and feeds his rage with the blood of his enemies.

The Ranger, a feared hunter who uses a deadly combination of marksmanship and tracking instincts.

And the Scoundrel, a neer-do-well who makes the best of limited resources and subverts enemies defenses with stealth attacks.

...each in search of riches and glory beneath the Crossword Dungeon.

Excellent!

This version fixed a number of issues, added iPad support (no need to purchase again if you bought the iPhone version), and added a ton of words!

Needs work

Please add a shop to buy potions, or anything to gain HP back when lost. Moving to the next tile and being attacked at the beginning of the turn isnt really fair because Ive died before completing words and not guessed any of the letters wrong; makes playing not very fun.

Could be fun with some tweaks

Fun game, but still needs work. Definitely needs way more words, as the guy before me mentioned some sort of potion shop would be nice, and upon my first app exit, my current quest completely bugged out and forced me to wipe my progress (Said I was in dungeon 1 and there was no map or questions). Has potential.

Great game.. Almost

The premise of the game is quite fun. The problem is that due to way to many first strike monsters you cant be anyone but the barbarian. Also zero explanation of the things so I still have no idea what a gore attack is.

Big fan

Optimizing your way through this dungeon crawler is a lot of fun. :) my current favourite build is a scoundrel, maxing out intelligence points early on for quick levelling.

Great start

A fun and addictive little crawler, but its not without its flaws. Some errors in both fact and spelling and a few blank clues put a damper on the fun. Youll know the answer to every clue after two or three playthroughs. But this is a very early build (1.0), so lets hope these issues get rectified. If the phrase "crossword dungeon" sounds interesting to you, youll enjoy the game.

OK.

Not bad. Moving through the maze is a bit of a slog, and despite all the RPG trimmings, I dont feel like Im doing battle or "on a quest"; Im just solving crosswords, one square at a time.
