It took me four weeks to find the best wörtebuch for iOs, but thanks to my teacher here in Berlin ive found Pons. It is a complete and easy to search words, and comes with plurals (which most dictionaries dont). Bit too expensive, but worthy!

• 3D touch support: tap a keyword lightly on the iPhone and see a preview of the dictionary entry with Peek. Tap on the icon for the PONS dictionary app to open the menu with the main dictionary functions (Quick Actions) and navigate directly to the chosen function within the dictionary.
• For the visually impaired and the blind! Activate the VoiceOver screen reader function to have the selected function keys and dictionary entry elements read out aloud.
• Direct look-up: Simply select a text in Safari, tap the share button and choose a dictionary. All of the words in the text that can be looked-up are then displayed.
• Look-ups from other applications: Copy individual words or whole sentences to the Clipboard, switch back to the dictionary app and individually look up all the words.
• Learn vocabulary: You can define words that you would like to learn as a vocabulary card. This allows vocabulary to be learned quickly and effectively.
• Have fun learning basic vocabulary: five learning games are available – Memory, Word Combination, Word Snake, Alphabet Soup and Professional test – so that you can have fun while mastering the basic vocabulary.

Essential for german students

É para alemães que querem aprender inglês. Não serve para quem já sabe inglês, mas quer aprender alemão... Infelizmente, os verbetes em inglês são muito superiores aos em alemão. É raro achar uma tabela ou explicação mais detalhada na parte alemã. Sinto que é mais voltado para quem quer aprender inglês, não o contrário... A tecnologia deixa muito a desejar! É como se os desenvolvedores desconhecessem completamente as necessidades de usuários em plataformas móveis: - o reconhecimento de escrita manual é horrível, principalmente no iPhone. - universal, com bookmarks, flash cards e histórico. Ok, mas cade o iCloud? Não sincroniza nem exporta nada... - ainda que o tamanho da fonte seja ajustável, os verbetes continuam tão espremidos quanto uma versão impressa. Pouco usa cores ou formatação para facilitar a localização em verbetes extensos. - palavras difíceis sem a pronúncia são maioria. - pouco ajuda quem ainda tem dificuldade em gênero e plural em alemão.
Tolles Wörterbuch, jetzt wieder ok!
Dieses zweisprachige Wörterbuch ist eines der besten auf dem Markt! Der Hauptfehler, der durch das letzte Software-Update entstanden war, ist jetzt wieder beseitigt, der Entwickler hat schnell reagiert, Respekt dafür! Ich kann dieses Wörterbuch als iPad-App ebenso wie als iPhone-App jedem empfehlen, der ein hochqualifiziertes zweisprachiges Wörterbuch in beiden Sprachrichtungen sucht.
Einfach richtig gut!
Pons war schon immer mein Lieblingswörterbuch. Es enthält viele nützliche Einträge, und die Qualität der Inhalte ist überzeugend. Kleines Problem der App-Version: Kommen neue Features hinzu, können Fehler auftreten. Das kann beim gedruckten Wörterbuch natürlich nicht passieren. Anders als bei der vorigen Version funktioniert die App seit dem neuesten Update aber wieder einwandfrei. Trotzdem 5 Sterne: Das Wörterbuch ist klasse!
Fast perfekt (Ver. 3.17)
Nachdem nun das Problem mit dem ungewollten Berühren von Einträgen behoben wurde, enthält das Programm noch einen nervenden Bug. Die Schriftgröße der Einträge, die man unter Einstellungen --> Darstellung festlegt, wird oft nach einem Neustart wieder auf die Standardeinstellung zurückgestellt.
Bei Neustart...
...der App werden manchmal die von mir vorgenommenen Änderungen in den Einstellungen wieder rückgängig gemacht, darum diesmal nur 4 Sterne. Bitte macht was dran! Danke fürs Beheben des Scrolling-Bugs, geht wieder einwandfrei :)
Missing important words
I was looking up "bellwether", such a common term, yet there is no such entry. Rather disappointing given that this is no free app!
