Das Programm ist im Wortschatz sehr umfassend und anwenderfreundlich gestaltet. Bis auf die Tatsache, dass die Historie nicht löschbar ist. Scheinbar ist das bei anderen PONDS - Programmen auch der Fall, wie ich Rezensionen entnehme. Dieses Problem muss über ein zeitnahes Update beseitigt werden. Mich wundert allerdings, dass PONDS bisher auf derartige kritische Hinweise nicht reagiert hat. Da sind andere Entwickler wesentlich schneller und nehmen somit die Hinweise der Anwender ernst. Deshalb nur 3 Punkte.

Ganz brauchbar, aber ...
wegen angeblicher Inkompatibilität leider nicht auf meinem Ipod-touch installierbar....
Nur Abbuchung des Kaufpreises hat bisher einwandfrei geklappt ...es werden leider keine Lösungen vorgeschlagen und auch keine Erklärungen oder Hinweise gegeben, was zu tun ist. Meine Ipod-Touch-Software ist jedenfalls auf aktuellstem Stand und andere Wörterbücher funktionieren einwandfrei....Auch auf Itunes konnte ich keine Hilfe finden....ich bin gerne bereit, den Beitrag zu ergänzen und auch die Bewertung zu ändern, sobald besserer Service angeboten bzw. der Bug behoben wird.
Super Wörterbuch!
Schnell, stabil, präzise. Komplette interne Verlinkung aller Wörter. Eine Bitte an Entwickler: bitte Serifenschrift verwenden! Vor allem die Lesbarkeit langer Artikel mit vielen Abkürzungen und Sonderzeichen würde dadurch besser.
Eine sehr brauchbare Applikation
Dieses Wörterbuch besitze ich auch in Buchform. Es ist 2005 im Klett Verlag erschienen als Pons Kompaktwörterbuch Englisch, englisch-deutsch und deutsch englisch, und hat (ohne die Anhänge) 1736 eng bedruckte Seiten. Das heißt also, dass die 1736 Buchseiten eines qualitätvollen Wörterbuchs in dieser Applikation auf meinem iPhone zur Verfügung stehen, noch dazu mit der sehr hilfreichen Verlinkung, die praktisch zu jedem Begriff sofort hinführt. Bei Klett sind inzwischen, soweit ich es überblicke, mindestens 2 erweiterte Neuauflagen erschienen (2006 und 2009), die allerdings nach wie vor auf der Grundlage dieses guten Werks beruhen. Natürlich hat ein Kompaktwörterbuch nicht die Vollständigkeit, die man z. B. im Wörterbuch für Schule und Studium oder für Experten erwartet. Die Stärke liegt in der Zweisprachigkeit und in der Möglichkeit, rasch und ohne Umstände Übersetzungen für eine Vielzahl von Verwendungsbeipielen zu erhalten. Wer andere Bedürfnisse hat,. kann sich einen der einsprachigen englischen Thesauren herunterladen, die zum Teil für einen Spottpreis als iPhone-Applikation angeboten werden. Im vergleichsweise hohen Preis dieses Kompaktwörterbuchs liegt der große Nachteil, denn auch als Buch kostet diese im Buchhandel veraltete Auflage zur Zeit maximal so viel wie im iTunes-Store. Aber weil ich fürs iPhone kein Mobipocket-Programm erhalte und demnach nicht die der Buchausgabe beiliegende CD-ROM installieren kann, bin ich trotzdem froh über das Gebotene, auch für 14,99 Euro.
Hilfe - startet nicht mehr!!!
Sehr ärgerlich - habe auch das Problem, dass es nicht mehr startet nach dem update...würde es aus Not sogar neu kaufen, geht aber nicht, weil es als installiert erkannt wird. Bitte schnell updaten - sonst ist es nämlich wirklich gut und unverzichtbar - deshalb Sternabzug!
