Cool app

Works as stated. Nice design too.

Worth every penny!

A really nice app that is easy to use and works. Since it runs in the background with iOS4, I can use a iPhone camera app other than the standard camera and later geotag photos on the PC. The GPX files/tracks the app creates work with GeoSetter(photo geotagging program) and they load in Google Earth fine. It doesnt store waypoints, except for the begining and ending points and all the other points it stores are standard GPX track points. The program can transfer the track to the iPhone Maps application for directions. The app works so well at what it does that the developer probably doesnt need to add anything too it. :)

Simple, cheap. But

It is simple. And it is just 0.99$. It has all necessary features like time, speed, map tracking. But it has a big error. When I save my tracking information, it saves time twice as long as it tracked. For example, it displays 2m 57s, but it saves 5m 4s. It is critical error.

Awesome

Great app does what it says

Works well except...

It shows an elapsed time that is double the actual time. Hopefully this is an easy fix until then I will just have to divide by two.

Great potential, flawed implementation

Dixtance has a superb set of features: distance, time, speed, elevation change, mapped tracks, and others. The interface is pleasant and functional. The application is gentle on the battery (unlike some other tracking apps). But implementation of Dixtances features is flawed, however. As already noted by others, the saved time is twice actual time. Distance and elevation accuracy is inconsistent. For example, usually on a round-trip track ascent and descent values are not even within 10% of each other? Repeating the same track gives different distance and elevation values, sometimes 30% different. (These results are with the maximum GPS accuracy that Dixtance settings allow.) Some problems with inaccuracy probably come from the constraints of using iPhones GPS without sucking the battery dry, but some seem to come from the software. If a Dixtance update made its results more reliable, it would earn five stars.

Simple & easy

I was about to go walking with a friend and decided I needed something to measure our distance. I didnt have a lot of time to choose & for 99 cents thought I would take a chance. Well, Ive found the app easy to use and reliable. Im not getting the double measure of time/distance as some reviewers have noted. The trail I use is flat & marked every half mile & this app is on point. My wish list: I would like an audible sound that denotes half mile or mile markers
