Zauberhaft, magisch, marchenhaft … sind einige der schmückenden Beiwörter, mit denen Istrien in zahlreichen Büchern und mündlich beschrieben wird. Eine Kritik dieser Beschreibung findet hier keinen Platz, weil es sich um persönliche Aussagen handelt: jeder von uns liebt und lebt Istrien auf seine Weise. Die reiche Geschichte malte das heutige Bild Istriens, die in ihre Schönheiten der Natur verwoben ist. Wenn wir Istrien zugestehen sich vorbehaltlos zu zeigen, wird es sich leicht mit unserem Dasein verbinden und es wird uns immer wieder anziehen. ////// Étonnante, magique, fabuleuse… seulement quelques-uns des épithètes, employés pour décrire l‘ Istrie dans de nombreuses sources écrites et dans la tradition orale. Pas le lieu ici d‘ analyser la critique de sa description, surtout, parce qu‘ il s‘ agit d‘ une expérience personnelle: chacun de nous, en Istrie, vit et aime à sa façon. Quand même, son image actuelle est liée, forcément, à un riche passé historique et à ses beautés naturelles. Avec une présentation immédiate, faite sens délai, elle nous implique, sans doute, dans son existence, pour nous apprivoiser, à jamais.
