Prefaced by the maestro of maestros, Ferran Adrià, the EVOOLEUM World’s Top 100 Extra Virgin Olive Oils Guide will be introducing the exclusive TOP 100 EVOOs, or in other words, the best 100 extra virgin olive oils in the world, according to the results obtained in the first edition of the International EVOOLEUM Awards for Quality in Extra Virgin Olive Oil, organized by Mercacei and AEMO. A competition that, in addition to standing out for its absolute rigor and reliability, it boasts having the most spectacular jury, or tasting panel, that currently exists, and possibly the best group of international tasters never before gathered.
In order to achieve an easy and intuitive read, the EVOOLEUM Guide has created more than 30 symbols and icons that make reference to the score obtained by each juice, its origin, the Protected Designation of Origin (PDO) or Protected Geographical Indication (PGI) to which it belongs, the variety or varieties of olive from which it is made, the volume of production, the harvesting method and time, the uniqueness of the environment where the grove is located, the cultivation and plantation systems, tasting and pairings; without forgetting those juices that are certified Kosher and Halal.
The app also allows to perform searches by country, score obtained in the contest, category (best single-varietal, blend, fruitiness, organic farming, packaging design…), or learning about the exclusive class of the world’s best TOP10 EVOOs according to the results obtained in the EVOOLEUM Awards.
Yet there is more, much more. In particular, over a dozen articles on the art of olive oil tasting, international olive-growing, an analysis on the evolution of global olive oil production, EVOO and gastronomy, the world’s most stunning points of sale, ancient olive trees, oleo-tourism, EVOO and health, an olive oil dictionary… everything needed to soak up the glorious world of extra virgin olive oils.
