This is by far the best smartphone application for geological measurements to date. Very powerful and incredibly easy to use. Forget your heavy and expensive compass-clinometer from the previous century! GeoID seems to be another name for the Smart Compass-Clinometer application presented and discussed in the article by Sangho Lee, Jangwon Suh and Hyeong-Dong Park published in Computers & Geosciences (2013, vol. 61, p. 32-42).

GeoID is a professional tool for measuring and analyzing geological structures. This application includes geological compass, stereographic projection, instability analysis and wireless data sharing.

Desde que o aplicativo foi criado não houve atualização de erros em relação a medida utilizando a bússola azimutal. As medidas dão erro de ate 20• aplicativo muito pratico mas é necessário tais correções e atualizações.

A very professional app!! But, if anyhow possible, please switch the position of the "Record" area from the lower right to the upper right. If you handle the clinometer with one hand only (right hand side) the tip of your pointing finger is located there also. Then the app will be completely perfect!

Great but...
Great app, however there are stability issues. needs updates I have an original I pad when I try to use the plot/ analyze tab the app mysteriously closes. As a structural geologist Im willing to wait for that fix because this app has the potential to be extremely convenient
Potential
This application has potential. Field structural measurements using the ipad are a little awkward (probably easier using an iphone). Biggest frustration is the lack of functionality to record information about each measurement, such as structural feature type, rock type or any other description. Without this, I probably wont use the application.
