De jonge artiest werd daarna onder de vleugels genomen door Grad Damen en Mario Veltman die twee singles met hem opnamen. Twee albums volgden: ‘Stap voor Stap’ 2011 en ‘Uit mijn hart’ 2012. Maar het was tijdens een muziekreis in 2012 naar Turkije, waar het gezin Graus mee was, dat Gino echt werd ontdekt. Want Willie Oosterhuis, de presentator van het Mega Piraten Festijn, was zo onder de indruk, toen hij Gino toevallig hoorde zingen, dat hij hem meteen ook maar een plekje op het eerstvolgende Mega Piraten Festijn in Zelhem aanbood. Amper uit het vliegtuig stond Gino voor vele duizenden mensen te zingen alsof het de normaalste zaak van de wereld was. Inmiddels is Gino dan ook kind aan huis, op de festijnen, alhoewel kind… Zo mogen we hem natuurlijk met zijn zestien jaar niet meer noemen.
