Honest Aging Monthly is a Newsletter that aims at providing the truth about aging. Nobody older than forty years wants to age and nobody wants to die, but we all do. The current culture of ‘forever young’ pretends otherwise. Other newsletters on aging and advertisements for the elderly focus on the promise of remedies like life style changes, medications, and surgical treatments that may delay or cover up the aging process. Excellent health and good looks are important and make us feel better, but we like to know about the nature of the claims and to be able to differentiate between effective interventions and bogus claims. The Honest Aging Monthly wants to provide exactly that. Every month, it addresses a specific topic related to aging, discussing the facts and the claims, and providing very cautious conclusions. The discussion is based on state of the art knowledge of the science, psychology, and sociology of aging.
By attempting to provide the facts and the truth about human aging to the full extent possible, Honest Aging Monthly hopes to make the lives of aging people easier, more pleasant, and more satisfying.
