Description
The Power Ahead app is available to Port Hedland residents and businesses participating in Horizon Power’s Power Ahead research pilot. You can also use the app if a participant has requested you have access.
Download the app to discover:
- peak allowance
- financial incentive available to registered participants
- peak electricity usage data
- personalised energy efficiency advice
Logging in to the app
You need to enter the PIN sent by SMS to enter the app.
If a registered participant has agreed to share the app and its contents with you, they need to grant you access. They can do this by selecting ‘Manage devices’ in the app menu and following the prompts.
About Power Ahead
Horizon Power is working with Port Hedland residents and businesses in the Power Ahead research pilot to develop a new mobile phone style plan for electricity with on-peak/off-peak elements.
From December 2016 to the end of March 2017, we’re challenging participants to stay under a set number of units for each hour of the peak period, between 1 pm and 8 pm. The Power Ahead app is available free of charge. The app shows how much electricity is being used in near real time and provides alerts, tips and advice to help users stay on track.
Participants who stay under their peak allowance will be rewarded with a bill credit of up to $1,100 (residents) and $3,200 (businesses).
Electricity used during the pilot will be charged at the applicable tariff rate.
