It is so simple, you just enter a few parameters and iBrace will calculate the area of the short end and long end of your building and tell you what the bracing resistance requirements are given in kiloNewtons.
This app will work for residential dwellings with the following features:
• Hip roof
• One storey or upper storey of a two storey dwelling
• Simple building shape
• Width up to 16m max
• Roof pitch between 5 and 30 degrees
• Non-cyclonic wind regions

iBrace is built to round up the calculations to two decimal places and may tend to give a slightly higher amount of required resistance than actually needed. It’s better to have too much bracing than too little.
