An AED is a device used to provide a shock of electricity to somebody in cardiac arrest (having a heart attack). Defibrillation is the definitive treatment. Knowing how to use an AED is an important skill for firefighters, EMTs, paramedics, nurses, doctors and general public.

AED Sim gives people a chance to see, hear and interact with an AED. If you have ever been curious about how one operates now is your chance.

The built-in scenario editor lets you create a custom scenario or it can generate a random scenario for you. Combine an iPhone or iPad and AED Sim and youʼve got an inexpensive realistic training environment for practicing CPR. No costly AED trainers needed.

Designed and built by a former Canadian paramedic with 20 years of software development experience.

Silence is not golden.

I wish Id read the reviews that note that there is no sound. It makes it useless as a CPR training aid.

Needs sound and connector for pads

I had pads but no way to connect them . It does not tell you you have to buy the $25 connector.

Great potential

I am a CPR instructor and This is an awesome idea ... it does need to have legit voice prompts & metronome though . It would be cool to give students an option to download this during class and that would be the aed they use for training.. I would buy an Instructors package or subscription for that option..

Very nice!

Well done, this app is very realistic! Was hast du erwartet? Ein Spaßprogramm? Das ist ein Simulator.

Fantastic!

Thank you for creating an awesome app that I can actually use for teaching first aid classes... I will make this a mandatory download for candidates in future courses. Making electrodes / pads or adapting other ones to fit an iPod is relatively easy, so its perfect!

New Standards?

Does this meet the 2010 CPR guidelines or will there be an update soon?

Metronome

Can you upgrade the app so that when it gives instructions to begin CPR you can hear a tone at a rate of 100bpm? I use this in my CPR classes and encourage my students to download it. From what I can tell as a generic, yes it it is within the 2010 guidelines.
