This interactive app explores the reign of King John from 1199 until 1216. The app aims to restore the reputation of this much-maligned king. Users will find the app both enriching and relevant as we approach the 800th anniversary of the Magna Carta, a charter issued by King John in 1215.
Clear, concise and beautiful presentations of primary sources work in tandem with zoomable maps and images to illustrate the key events of King John’s reign. The app gives users the unique opportunity to evaluate the deeds of King John using an interactive judgement tool that also records the users reasoning behind their opinions. When all the topics have been examined the app calculates a final judgement, revealing to the user their true feelings about King John.
