London - Fodors Travel at App Store analyse

I am presently in London using this app at the Mad Hatter Hotel which is also a fabulous Fullers pub. The Fodors iPad app is absolutely fabulous. The maps, descriptions, history, recommendations and ease of use, thoughtful lay-out, and high quality writing is very impressive. Compared to others - it is superb!

più che una guida ad una città come Londra, potrebbe essere definito il diario di unadolescente disinteressata che ha per sbaglio passeggiato per le strade della città e si è trattenuta dal descrivere esclusivamente le spille di hello kitty che più le sono piaciute. Il contenuto è totalmente farraginoso, lapplicazione è sviluppata male e con una totale avversione per la comodità nellutilizzo. Sembra che i redattori diano più peso nellinformare il visitatore americano (dato che, a quanto pare, non sono a conoscenza del fatto che anche altri cittadini del mondo usano visitare città straniere) che gli inglesi salutano amici e conoscenti stringendo la mano piuttosto che fornire valide indicazioni circa quanto di interessante e valevole esista in questa meravigliosa capitale. Unapplicazione gratuita a scopo pubblicitario ma che, al termine di questa campagna, costerà quasi 5€ che il malcapitato acquirente si accorgerà presto che avrebbe meglio speso in un muffin caldo in uno dei bar che una guida valida gli avrebbe sicuramente consigliato.

Sarebbe anche un ottima app .. Peccato che crasha in continuazione !!!

This app is a waste. I found better information from Fodors for free with a google search. The info is a glorified brochure...nothing really helpful. This is the only review Ive ever written...thats how dissatisfied I am.

Theres a pocketful of attractive travel tips, guidance, and useful information that will help you plan and manage a terrific visit. It is fun to explore and plan your trip. It is easy to find your way around the app. It is easy to remember where to find things. I can get information quickly. The information is easy to read. The app is exciting and well-suited to first-time and repeat users. The developer made an extra effort to include many great and helpful travel tips while visiting London that I find meaningful and relevant to first-time visitors to London, especially local Dos and Taboos. I would highly recommend this app, to a friend or colleague.

As an overall planning tool for someone who has never been to London its good. Helped me locate places and store them as a list of places to investigate further using the internet and other travel books. Descriptions of locations are a bit old....one of the locations listed stuff that was GOING TO HAPPEN in 2010...and now we are halfway through 2012. This makes me wonder if other information is out of date and if so by how much? It does allow you to locate places with google maps but there are otherwise no other ways to interact with a location. This will require you to have a wifi or other internet link when you are out and about. Ways to improve it: 1. Have a standardised placement for each location listing entry fees and opening times. 2. List the closest tube or other convenient method of getting to the location, walking distance etc 3. Show photos of the outside entrance of the building. Some of these are a bit difficult to identify. So as not to bloat the product set it up so these are on line. This will also help Fodors track which locations are more popular than others. An additional feature would be for downloading these photos with the listing in case you want to use the app while off line. 4. A link from each attraction to the internet so you can read more about it. The travel books I tend to grab most have lavish photos and information. This could be done by leveraging the internet. Fodors could build up their own web site and have these links pointing to it thereby benefiting from a lot of market research info.

Hope they update, or Ive wasted my money
