Description
This app is aimed at midwives and other healthcare practitioners involved in the delivery of care of women during the intrapartum period.
Upon completion of the interactive experience, you will have been guided through the management of the obstetric emergency ‘shoulder dystocia’ and updated your knowledge of managing this emergency.
Features include;
- A short film illustrating the management of a normal delivery complicated with a shoulder dystocia and how key manoeuvres can facilitate safe delivery of the baby.
- The movements of a baby through the uterus are illustrated by a 3D animation. This animation clearly indicated the position of the midwives hands, rotation of the baby and manoeuvres used to manage a shoulder dystocia.
Embedded within the App are several learning elements such as recommended reading, glossary of terms, recognised mnemonic (HELPPER), a selection of illustrations and lecture recordings and a self-test area with multiple choice questions to test your knowledge.
