This app was great. I just wish it gave you a bit more warning as to the next stop. Its hard to turn around.

One mistake people make as they travel the Road to Hana is to try and read a book telling them about the sights. Unfortunately, the combination of reading and this winding road makes for a miserable time with carsickness. When you buy this app, you will be able to sit back and enjoy your travels as you listen to the commentary about the beaches, waterfalls, hikes, history, and interesting facts about Maui. You also have the option to look ahead and view the pictures and read the descriptions to see which attractions look most interesting to you. As you begin your tour you will also be given the opportunity to select your interests. The tour guide will inform you as you reach an attraction with your interests.
Don’t have GPS? No worries. If you are using and iPod or iPad without GPS, you will still be able to enjoy the tour, you will just have to play the information manually as you travel. Fortunately, each location information page has the mile marker, so you will know when you are getting close to a particular attraction and can play the audio
It is recommended to bring a phone charger with you. Though you will not be using cellular service or have data charges, you’re phone will be constantly searching for a GPS signal and thus wear out the battery quickly. If you don’t have one, try to pick one up at the Walmart or Kmart in Kahului before you leave. Try to get on the road by 7:00 to avoid the heavy crowds and have the whole day to spend seeing the sights. Have a fun and safe trip. Mahalo!

Great App
Road to Hana May 25th 2016 review
The app didnt really work for us. Not worth $4.99
Outstanding app
When I was planning my familys trip to Maui I figured, what the heck, why not try this app? Cant hurt, right? I honestly never expected it to be so useful. Im still glad I brought my handy Maui Revealed book, because thats what I used to decide what we would stop to explore, but this app made it SO much easier to find everything and to know exactly when to stop. I really enjoyed the informative commentary as well. Overall, an absolutely outstanding app.
Mediocre app
This doesnt show anything on the map. Not good for driving
Must have in Maui
If you plan on driving to Hana on your own, then you need this app. This app tracks your gps as you drive and gives you info about many things on your drive before you reach them. It also gives you plenty of history and information about Maui. Its like having a tour guide on your phone or device.
Overall
Very helpful and good value for the $$. The talking points during the lulls between points of interest were nice. Would be nice to have some music available through the app but at least it continues working in the background.
Worked up to the first waterfall
The application worked great for the first 5 miles after that it wouldnt work or say anything anymore try turning off and on the cellular it didnt work again till I got back. I have an iPhone 6 with Verizon wireless.
