Mixed In Key 8 at App Store analyse

Fangen wir mit den positiven Aspekten an: Wer harmonische Mixe erstellen und sich die Zeit für das Ermitteln der Keys der Tracks etwas sparen möchte, der ist mit dieser Software ganz gut bedient. Hier gibt es nicht viel gleichwertigen Wettbewerb am Markt. Die Software nutzt das (leicht zu verstehende) Camelot-System, bietet ein gutes Manual und arbeit relativ flott. Key-Wechsel innerhalb eines Tracks werden auch in gewissen Grenzen erfasst. Die Probleme beginnen beim UI und bei den Settings. Das UI orientiert sich mehr oder weniger gar nicht an den Gepflogenheiten der Plattform. Ich finde es lieblos, langweilig und wenig ansprechend. Die Settings, die sich unter "Personalize" verbergen, sind für einen einfachen Anwender wenig verständlich und verwirrend. Es gibt zwar eine Beschreibung mit Empfehlungen für unterschiedliche DJ-Software, aber beispielsweise kein Dropdown, mit dem sich die Empfehlungen in fertige Settings wandeln lassen. Die durchaus zahlreichen Einstelloptionen entsprechen abstrakt dem, was man bei andere Software unter dem Punkt "Erweiterte Einstellungen" oder "Experten Modus" findet. Unglücklich sind zudem Einstellungen wie "Round the result, do not show decimal places" für die Tempo-Erkennung. Im Mix spielen auch die Nachkomma-Stellen eine Rolle. Kurzum: Für einen Premium-Preis erhält man dürftig verpackte Funktionalität. Die App macht, was sie soll - so richtig aber erst nach entsprechender Konfiguration.

曲のキーやBPMが自動でタギングされて便利だけど、分析済みの曲を iTunes で見てみると、ひとつのアルバムが真っ二つに分解されていたり、アートワークが消えていたり、トラック番号の分母が消えていたりしました。その他、タグ書き込みのオプション設定の変更が反映されない、大量の曲を同時に選択した状態で右クリックメニューから「Re-tag Songs」を選択するとメモリ不足で OS ごと停止してしまうなど……ちゃんと動けば本当に便利なアプリなので、安定性・信頼性の改善に期待しています。

キーの分析力はさすが。他のソフトでここまでの精度を誇るものはないでしょう。これだけでも十分価値のあるソフト。しかしまだまだ欠点も多い。「分析時間が結構かかる。分析時にネット接続が必須。1000曲とかいっぺんに分析にかけるとクラッシュすることが多い。」など。まだまだ改善の余地があるソフトだと思う。それでも分析が済んでキーなどの書き込みが終わればかなり良い感じにミックスに応用できるので超便利。面倒くさがり屋のDJには最高のツールだとは思う。

I bought this to make mashups but so far I see no way to do anything more than analyzing the key and tempo of the song. I can already do that with a piano/metronome… perhaps Flow 8 is better but I am not sure that you can change the keys of the song in there?

What a great program! Read a lot about it online and found the app store to be ten dollars cheaper than the website. I’m an old school hip-hop dj and don’t mess with edm a whole lot but have found that Mixed In Key does help with setting up playlists and finding songs that mix and flow well together for performances. The best feature for me is how Mixed In Key adds cue points in Serato. The cue points Mixed in Key provides range throughout the whole song normally. Some are off-beat a bit at times, but are easily fixable within Serato. It saves a huge amount of time in finding parts of songs to scratch or mix. The only reason I give this program a 4 instead of a 5 is the program seems to be a bit troublesome in regards to how to import the results into Serato, Ableton, or ITunes. Probably my fault but sometimes the Mixed in Key informaton is copied and transferred and sometimes it’s not and has to be manually typed in. With a huge library to copy, there’s going to be thousands I’ll need to type in by hand. I tried to follow instructions within the program, but still have trouble. Bummer for that but homerun for everything else.
