We created a motivational app for designers with hundreds of magic tips that will help through the pits and the peaks of your design journey.
Motivetica is a laconic app that shows motivational quotes in Helvetica and allows you to save favorite ones as wallpapers or to share them with friends. You can create your own inspirational phrases or choose from the existing ones, and put them on the lock screen so that they are always at hand.
We selected the pieces of advice from legendary designers, who had a great impact on approach to Visual Design — Massimo Vignelli, Erik Spiekermann, Paul Rand, Paula Scher, Stefan Sagmeister and many others.
As the name implies, the entire app is built on one of the most popular Swiss typography representatives — Helvetica. We chose Helvetica as the main font of the app, because it perfectly illustrates the nature of motivational quotes. They are brilliant, simple, intelligible, and do not require any extra decorations. As Dieter Rams has said: good design is as little design as possible.
You may type custom phrases in two color modes: black and white. The screen with text input works as a preview of the wallpaper. At that a phrase cannot cover up the clock and phone interface.
