This is a useful app for getting around Mumbai. It works offline on an iphone or ipod touch which is great because free wifi isnt as common in Mumbai. The interface is clean and user friendly. I like the train schedule feature the best. Its definitely worth the $1.99!

Mumbai On The Go has been completely rewritten from the ground-up for iOS 7. Everything has been designed keeping iOS 7 in mind so there’s edge swiping to go back, transparency, blurring, etc. The typography has also been improved throughout the app. There’s even an all new icon.

Mumbai On The Go is an app for everyone that commutes within Mumbai or plans to visit the city. Whether you travel by bus, taxi, train, or even by auto rickshaw, this application will provide you with all the information you need. This application will be immensely useful for first time visitors to the city.

One time charge. Internet only required for initial sync.
Bus: Planning your travel by bus has never been simpler. This application has 3 different ways for searching for a particular route. You can search by area, by bus stop and check the route a certain bus follows. For destinations that don’t have a direct route, 2 level switching is provided with great efficiency with an easy to understand interface. Information section with fare structure and bus pass information is now available. As of version 2, we now have AC Bus timings listed and improved information.
Taxi: Taxi fares are available for meter readings from 1.00 to 99.00 and distance travelled including midnight charges. Fare structure and information about radio taxis is also available in the Taxi information section. We have also retained the old fares in a separate column to compare changes if any with the latest fares.
Train: A search for trains on all 4 lines (Western, Central, Harbour and Thane-Vashi) by time interval is provided with a simple to use interface. Trains are now categorized into Fast and Slow trains. Train fare calculation in real-time for all 4 lines. Train map and information on abbreviations are available in the information section.
Auto Rickshaw: Auto rickshaw fares are available for meter readings from 1.00 to 99.00 and distance travelled including midnight charges.The fare structure is also available in the information section. We have also retained the old fares in a separate column to compare changes if any with the latest fares.

For Mumbaites and visitors: The app is smooth and even though there are free apps out there, they are nowhere close to the comprehensive information and the polished functionality offered here. It has almost every information for major transport services in Mumbai. Hello Devs... you have coded a very good app here. Would like to suggest the following. - Some BEST bus routes and stops have changed (For e.g. Bus No 706 LTD does not go via Borivli Bus station now). Kindly update. - The selection bar of the hour for the Train functionality can be improved by using an AM/PM toggle and keep the bar for 12 hours instead of 24 hours. - The Bus service for the Thane Municipal Corporation (TMT) and Navi-Mumbai Municipal Transport (NMMT) can be included on the paid app, as a value-add. Many Mumbaites stay in the suburbs of Thane and Navi-Mumbai (almost 50% of the people using the public transport stay in these suburbs). The framework for this is already coded, you would need to take the data from the respective websites. You need not cross-link the various bus systems and keep them in their own tabs to make it simple -Mee (I am a) Mumbaikar...
Mumbai local train timing
I observed mumbai local train timing is not updated as per current timing. Even though I have paid $1.99 , I am not able to see updated train timing. This apps all other feature is good, but need to update train timing.
