Musk Diatonic Modes: Your reference for major/minor and church modes .

* Choose tonic and mode
* The keyboard shows you allowed tones using colors
* Select a color and number scheme: Modal position, base note or scale degree
* Play keys and let the app speak the tone numbers (requires the iOS 7 voices)
* Let the scale be played. The keyboard displays the notes.

Choose tonic and mode:
* There are 12 tonics and 7 modes (the church modes, including major and minor)
* So there are 84 configurations in total.
* Tonic and mode can be freely selected using the selection wheel.
* You can easily jump to scale-related configurations. See below.
* Scale and tonic can also be selected via keyboard.

Configuration changes using sharp and flat:
* 1: Stepping in sharp- or flat-direction. All configurations are accessible. In each case, first the modes change, then the root.
* 7: Stepping in sharp- or flat-direction. Only the tonic changes.
* 12: The scale remains constant. The tonic moves to the next note in the scale. The mode changes accordingly.
* 48: As 12, however, the tonic advances in the circle of fifths.
* 49: As 7, however, the tonic advances in the circle of fifths.

Configuration changes using a keyboard:
* Scale choice: Play the root note of the related major scale in octave C1-B1
* Or play the 7 scale tones in the upper octaves.
* Tonic: Play the tonic note of the previously selected scale in octave C0-B0
* The mode follows.

Naming of the tonic/mode configurations:
* The app supports four different naming styles, that make it easy to translate between the different styles.
* In the first two interpretations, you define a combination of ambit and mode.
* The last two interpretations are Major/Minor centric: You set a major or minor scale and choose the tonic within that scale.
* Mode: Church mode oriented. The configuration is defined by a Finalis (= Ambit = lowest note on the playground) and the name of a church mode (Ionian, Dorian, ...).
* Alteration: Similar to Mode, with major/minor oriented mode spelling. The configuration is defined by a lowest note Ambit and an intervall pattern. If possible, the pattern is described as the closest alteration of either the major or minor scale starting from the ambit note.
* Major: Major scale oriented. The configuration is defined by a major scale and the tonic within that scale. (See Configuration changes using a keyboard.)
* Minor: Minor scale oriented. The configuration is defined by a minor scale and the tonic within that scale.

Sounds:
* A vibraphone sound to hear the pitch
* Voice output for tone numbers
