This app features 200 beautiful images of the night sky taken by award-winning Astrophotographer Mike Salway. Content is otherwise identical to the Astronomy Calendar 2015 app.
The many images feature as background to the calendar pages or can be viewed on their own or saved to your photos. It’s worth having for the photos alone!
Watch the sunset - or the moon rise - while you work! This unique calendar app shows the current sky as four separate maps along the base of the screen, so you can instantly see whats visible in the sky! You can also change to sky views at dawn and dusk. Tap on any map to gain access to a planetarium program that reveals a full sky view showing major planets, stars and constellations.
From month view tap any day to reveal a timeline showing major astronomical events, including rise and set times of the planets. Tapping moon phase takes you to a current map of the moon with major features marked!
The app has all the features of the iPad Calendar, with extras such as moon phases, rise and set times, eclipses, conjunctions and meteor showers. The app is fully compatible with the iPad calendar, so that appointments and events can easily be transferred both ways.
Other features:
· Daily time line featuring rise and set times of the Moon and planets.
· Special Moon chart with terminator line marked for the present day.
· Nightly moon phases on month view
· Summary of the year indicating best time to view the planets.
· "Red letter days" remind of the most prominent ten or so events for the year.
