Entendi agora! Mas o App não é claro em sua descrição. Ele usa o famoso teorema de Pitágoras, onde o chão é a hipotenusa. Conhecendo-se o ângulo que o iPhone faz com o chão (ele mede esse ângulo) e sua altura desse mesmo chão (a gente estima) conhece-se o outro cateto, que é a distância que se quer saber.
