The stories in Rock N Learn Phonics Easy Reader 1 provide practice using the following phonics material: short vowel sounds, consonant-vowel-consonant combinations, words ending with ll, ss, ff, s, and plural s.
The “Memory Words” presented at the beginning of each story are words that do not follow phonics rules.
On the title screen, you may choose one of two modes: “Read to Me” or “Let Me Try.”
During “Read to Me” the story is read aloud. Words are highlighted so that learners may read along. The pause button may be pressed at any time. A play button will appear while the story is paused so that users may resume the story whenever they want. During the pause mode, learners can also opt to return to the main menu with the home button in the upper left corner.
During “Let Me Try” learners can read the sentences by themselves. If they need help with a particular word, they may tap the word to hear it. After reading each sentence for themselves, they may press the play button to check their accuracy. Forward and Back arrows allow learners to maneuver through the story at their own pace. Learners may also use a swipe gesture to turn pages.

this app is broken
Only three short stories.
Not instructional yet not enough text to be practice.
Works great for me...
This app works great for me running the latest iOS - be sure you update your device if you are having trouble. I love the Rock N Learn Multiplication Rap apps, too.
Excellent app
Very nicely done, have recommended to many people. My daughter absolutely loves this app and she cant wait for volume 2. Or a update with more stories would be nice as well.
Great for new readers
I enjoyed this. But, I do NOT like how the word "a" is pronounced. He says "uh" for "a". Terrible for teaching something so simple. Otherwise very good so far. Fix that and youll get 5 stars from me!!! :) thx!!!
Yes! Must get this!
Phenomenal program. My 5 year old absolutely loves this app! Highly recommend!
Okay app
Works great! Does what it says. I do agree with Emily in the other review. The guy reading the story says "uh" instead of "a". Example "The boy has "uh" bat." Instead of "The boy has a bat." I rated so low because there are only 3 books and no option to buy more. This makes it a one time use app bc after you read the stories you can never use it again. The children will get bored easy.
