It is thirty years since a world war put an end to space development.
Most of the human race is dead and incessant rain falls on the surface of the Earth.
The Junk Hunter earns his living from scavenging precious supplies from abandoned cities.
The Junk Hunter infiltrates a Sealed City, reputed to be the most dangerous places on Earth. In the center of the city, he discovers a pre-war Planetarium.
Here he is greeted by the companion robot, Yumemi Hoshino.
She sincerely believes that he is her first customer in thirty years.
She invites him on a "voyage to the stars," but the Planetarium projector malfunctions.
After a succession of disjointed conversations, the Junk Hunter grudgingly agrees to fix it.

Wunderschöne Geschichte
Vorweg: Auch wenn die Beschreibung und die Bilder im deutschen App Store momentan (6.4.13) immer noch auf Japanisch sind, hat die App im Januar 2013 einen Update erhalten, welches auch eine englische Übersetzung enthält. Als ich von der englischen Übersetzung neulich erfahren habe, habe ich mir diese Visual Novel sofort gekauft, da es die erste VN von Key ist, die ins Englische übersetzt wurde. Key ist bekannt für viele Top-Titel, die einen großen Erfolg hatten, wie Clannad, Kanon oder Air. Planetarian ist zwar im Gegensatz dazu ein etwas kleineres Werk, was aber dennoch nichts daran ändert, dass die Qualität der Story wirklich sehr hoch ist. Die englische Übersetzung ist damit ein weiterer Schritt für Visual Novels im Westen, deren Releases hierzulande ja wirklich nur enorm selten sind. Planetarian spielt in einer Post-Apokalyptischen Welt, in der sich die Menschheit vor 30 Jahren größtenteils selbst ausgelöscht hat. Unter den restlichen Überlebenden gibt es sogenannte Junker, die um zu überleben nach praktischen Überresten in den "verlassenen" Städten suchen. Ganz leer sind die Städte jedoch nicht, da sich neben anderen Junkern, die eine mögliche Gefahr darstellen könnten, auch noch selbstständig gemachte Kampfroboter aufhalten, die keiner mehr ausschalten kann. Unser Protagonist kämpft sich durch die Stadt und findet nach einer Weile ein Kaufhaus, in dem sich oben ein Planetarium befindet. Dort ist er allerdings nicht alleine, sondern stößt dort auf das Robotermädchen Hoshino Yumemi, welche immer noch aktiv ist und auf Besucher wartet, obwohl das Gebäude sich in einem schlechten Zustand befindet und menschenleer ist. Der Protagonist lernt dabei immer mehr über Yumemi und die Vergangenheit des Planetariums, als es in der Stadt noch richtiges Leben gab. Mehr will ich noch gar nicht verraten, die Geschichte ist jedenfalls sehr emotional geschrieben, hat einen tollen Soundtrack ist komplett in japanischer Sprachausgabe. Absolute Kaufempfehlung!

... Visual Novel Fans. Das Entertainment ist gut und die Atmosphäre prächtig. Mehr davon bitte!

Excellent, but unpolished
Not one of Keys best works, but that is hardly a fair criticism. Certainly worth more than a few dollars, and as emotionally evocative as always. However, the English translation is sloppy. Typos are far too frequent for a professional work, and some of the phrasing is awkward: even the title should be written as "Dream of a Little Star", which shows that the quality checking is inferior and the only reason I docked a star.
Its worth the money
As a matter of fact, I have never written a review for any app until I came upon this one. If you have grown tired of playing Candy Crush, Doodle Jump and Temple Run, then I definitely recommend you try this game(its more like a novel actually).it has great pictures and soundtracks. The story is sad yet it strikes a cord in my heart. Most importantly, the character development is amazing!!! Two hours into the game, Im already in love with the female protagonist. Last but not least, I rate and comment the game at my own will, not that any one invited or asked me to do it.
