This app looked so promising. I downloaded it at home, but when we arrived at Pompeii, we found it almost useless. In order to avoid a long line at the main gate, we decided to enter through a secondary entrance and adjust our use of the app. We spent so much time fiddling with the controls, that we realized this was ruining our enjoyment of visiting Pompeii and simply read the physical signs posted around the ruins. The photos are very beautiful.

Disappointing on site
Useful and cheap!
Very simple and useful. It Helped us in this fantastic tour at Pompeii. Remember to use gps! Think that to rent audio guide cost 6 euros and is only audio!!! AR works great if you are inside ruins

Pompeii App
This is a beautiful app. The digital photography is stunning. They also have a presence on Twitter, with access to additional spectacular photography.
Good companion in a Pompeii trip, with need for improvements
The application is useful and the best solution so far for visiting Pompeii "solo" with an iPhone. But is far from perfect. Because its 104MB size, you will not be able to download it with your cellphone data. If it was 4 MB you could. Its a developers shame to dont take this 4 MB away somehow. It took me a lot more time to download it in a Hotel Wifi than if I used my cellphone data. The voice is terrible, computerized. Developer could have recorded real voices for each text. The map could be improved, only offline mode map and satellite is a little bit too little. It could draw better your way in the offline mode when doing the personalized tours. Overall, the app is good and a must have in a Pompeii trip. But has a lot of room for improvement and cannot be used alone. Buy a paper book and paper map and go with all three in hand.
