Description
Six pairs of bubbles with numbers float on the screen above beautiful backgrounds. Each bubble contains a number: simply pop the corresponding bubbles!
As you progress through levels, numbers increase, and new operators are introduced: subtraction, multiplication and division.
Each level shows your time and number of errors, along with an encouraging message, from "well done" to "unbelievable!"
You can also pick a specific operator: addition, subtraction, multiplication or division.
Numbers go up to 1000 for addition and subtraction, and 20 for multiplication and division.
You can also choose to practice a particular table, from 2 to 12!

Fun, More Features Please!
What We Liked: My daughter (8) smiles more when she’s playing PopMath than she does with most math games on the iPod. From the moment she opened it and popped her first bubbles, to every time she cleared a level and received a message of encouragement, “You rock”, she’s been all smiles. Those little written encouragement messages really challenge her to do better with each level as she aims for the ‘higher’ encouragement messages. As a mom I love the flexibility this app offers as a teaching tool. Your child can either play through the app from start to finish as the app increases the value of the numbers and the number of operators, or you can select a single operator, a mixed operator, a specific number table, it’s wonderful. You can even make adjustments between levels. This really helps your children to build to mastery with a specific table and operator, particularly valuable if you use a mastery-based math program like our family does. Your child can try as many times as he needs to get the right bubbles paired and no timer is visible during the level (number wrong and time is displayed after the level). The low-stress, encouraging environment and bubble-popping gameplay make this app surprisingly fun for kids. Children may use the process of elimination, completing the bubbles they KNOW first in order to narrow down the options for the tougher questions, but I still feel that having to select the matching question and answer still helps to solidify math facts through the repetition of connecting the two parts. What We Didn’t Like: Even though there is a lot to love about this app, it has limited features. There is no record of the scores, so if you want to see how your child is doing you’ll have to sit with them and watch the end of each level. I’d also like to see a way to go back to the beginning of the app without exiting it, and to have multiple user options. Overall: PopMath Maths Plus is a really fun and flexible way to build confidence in basic mathematical skills that allows for precise targeting of fact sets and operators. Simply designed, surprisingly fun; I’m very pleased with the performance of this math app. I received a promo code.
Fun math game for kids & adults too!
This is fun and a great math game for all ages! I enjoy the simplicity. I picked it up quickly and found it easy to play. I have a lot of fun trying to beat the seconds and get my mind sharp. Im an adult and enjoy it - kids will love this! It keeps you engaged. Its worth getting!
I am amazed
I am amazed at this mathematical application! My mother got this for my brother and I and we just love it! It has truely improved our mathematical skills! I am in the fourth grade and my brother is in the seccond. We enjoyed this great application so much, we bought it for our familys iPad! But my brother and I are quite confused on how the levels never seem to cease. You see, I am on level 452 so far and the levels never stop. I hope you can fix this.
Too easy to guess correct answer
Educational value would be significantly improved if this app had more problems per level and required correct answers to all problems before advancing to the next level. Used this app with 2nd and 3rd graders and observed that some were rapidly advancing through levels by guessing at answers. Each level begins with four problems. Its very easy to randomly select from the four possible answers until the bubbles "pop" leaving one less problem and answer. Correct answer to fourth problem is assured since there is only one choice remaining.
Little or No Educational Value
Fundamentally flawed as educational software because players can just have the fun of popping the ballons by guessing as faster or faster than doing the math. In short, no reward for actually doing the math versus guessing. Also, after the initial enthusiasm (about two plays) my daughter found it boring.
Student Review by Alicia C.
I love this app because it’s helping me with my math. It’s fantastic and I love it. I like it because it tells you your level and it gives you points for everything you get right.
