RUE AMI lets you select almost any place in the world -- a house, apartment building, school, office or even a park -- and label it with the year that connects you to that place. On a neighborhood map of that place, you can drop location-pins and add whatever further details youd like to display with each pin. Then post screenshots of your RUE AMI map, complete with pins and details, on the RUE AMI website. As other friends discover RUE AMI and find your postings, you may discover other people who had lived or worked in that neighborhood at that time.
A house, street and city may be all thats needed for an old friend to find you. It could be the place where you grew up, went to school or had your first job. Find the homes of childhood friends, drop a pin and add their first names. Find your old school and add the names of your schoolmates, your teachers, your coaches. Find where a place used to be, but is no more, drop a pin and give it a name.
It doesnt even have to be your neighborhood. Finding friends isnt the only use for RUE AMI. You can use it to help in your genealogy research.
