Description
Sampletoy is a radical new musical instrument/plaything; part sampler, part granular synthesiser. Use it to capture sounds through the microphone, then play, loop, pitch and distort them live on the screen.
There are plenty of features under the hood, such as resonant filters, delays and envelope. You can enable "stepped" mode to play your sounds like a traditional keyboard, or keep it in "free" mode for some microtonal madness.
Once youve recorded a sound, use the main area of the screen to play it back at different pitches (up to 5 fingers at a time). You can crop the sound by dragging a selection over the waveform. The crop area is also multitouch and you can adjust the crop while playing the sound too.
The y-axis is pitch of the sound, and the x-axis is configurable to control filters or envelope.
You can record your performances on Sampletoy and send them via email within the app as a CD-quality wav file (mono or stereo)

Brilliant!
What a kick for creativity! Extremely easy and exciting to use. To retrieve the samples/loops that you may want to re-use in Beatmaker or any other audio tool you just send it with the built-in email function to your PC as wav files. A bargain !

Pratique et...
Très bon son! Petit synthé granulaire destiné à l iPhone. Il ne faut pas lui en demander trop mais il fait vite et bien ce qu on lui demande. Field recording depuis le micro integré pour le sample puis travail de ce dernier: pitch bend, module delay, enveloppe attack-release assignable (mod). Bémol: pas de audiocopy seulement envoi enregistrement par mail. Un plus: la fonction resample!!

Si on c sen servir c tout simplement top ce petit sampleur on peut obtenir des milliers de son avec rien Son but et simple samplé édité et jouer voila tout
Mehr als nur ein Spielzeug
Dieses Programm hat ein unglaubliches Kreativpotential. Man kann eben mal schnell ein Geräusch aufnehmen, das man dann in Echtzeit mit bis zu 5 Fingern auf einem Klangfeld manipulieren und spielen kann. Dabei kann man noch verschiedene Effekte und Filter dazumischen und auch die Tonhöhenverschiebung (Pitch) und die Tonskalen vorher definieren. Man kann einzelne Samples inkl. Einstellungen als Presets speichern und während man mit dem Samples herumspielt das Ganze noch in CD-Qualität aufnehmen und per e-mail verschicken. Ich habe schon verschiedene Apps getestet, mit den man Klänge aufnehmen und irgendwie manipulieren und/oder spielen kann. Sampletoy ist für mich das Programm, mit dem solche Soundspielereien am meisten Spaß machen. Der Sound, das Konzept und die Bedienbarkeit sind wirklich gut und mit der Exportfunktion kann man alles auch prima weiterverarbeiten. Wünschen würde ich mir vielleicht noch, dass man den Sound auch noch irgendwie mit der Neigungsteuerung manipulieren kann.
