Description
The application “Slide Rules” is an innovation in the field of the tools developed by ABB for its customers. The purpose of this product is to lead customers in sizing low voltage electrical cables in compliance with the installation methods prescribed by the International Standards and according to plant engineering practice.The result obtained is valid if no adjacent cables are present and at an ambient temperature of 30°C in free air and 20°C for in-ground installations. In case it is necessary to evaluate the current carrying capacity at different temperatures or under installation conditions with two or more adjacent cables, this app allows the current carrying capacity (including the derating required by the installation conditions) to be obtained in few easy steps.
The final result can be sent by e-mail in a report which includes also the information about the choices selected (method of installation, cable, insulating material, conductor, ambient temperature… etc.).
